Spring

Spring is on its way: the birds are out and the rain has begun to fall. The weather has also begun to warm and I am so very grateful for that. The top picture today is a painting of a bird on a feather that I bought in Nicaragua a number of years ago. The artist took much more care with this piece than many of the similar pieces I saw. The second is one of the birds that I've been hearing and seeing around our apartment; there is a mourning dove around as well, but I haven't been able to get a good picture of it. Lastly: acorn squash and apples. The idea was to make stuffed acorn squash for dinner tonight with an apple filling, but by the time we got around to making dinner, it was a little late for that. I guess we have that to look forward to some other night.
